Last week I was contacted by Victorija who wanted some nice portrait shots, after the wedding photographer she booked made a right royal mess out of her wedding pictures. She felt that the photographer responsible didn't make her look good and chanced upon my site by happy coincidence. We set up a shoot in the next few days and here are some teaser pictures. Needless to say, she was more than satisfied with the results. ;)
The subjects of my shoot this time were two friends of mine, Daniel and Michael, whom I collaborate with on films. We love films. We love talking about films, and we love making films. They needed some pictures for publicity purposes and I was happy to do it. Here are the final pics.
Last weekend I was in Bonn to do a portrait session of Nathalie and Cloude. The weather wasn't the greatest - overcast clouds, grey skies, wind and rain. The antithesis of what a perfect day should be like. However, with some exploration, we managed to find a couple of great locations, where you never expected a photo to be taken. Chances are, you'd probably walk by these places without thinking twice. Glad I managed to find them. So here are some teaser pics. ;)
Hello everyone,
and welcome to the first post of my Blog. Here you'll get to see little snippets of what I do behind the camera on various different projects.
Last week was exceptionally cold with temperatures hitting -15 deg celsius in Köln which is not common. Despite that, Yasmin and I decided to get out there and take some pictures. We originally wanted to do a shoot, but kept pushing the date for various reasons. Procrastination is evil, it keeps sneaking up on you, a little bit at a time. Eventually we both decided to get out there and just do it. In retrospect, sometimes a little push is all it needs.
I firmly believe in practice makes perfect, and every job gives a chance to keep learning new things, improving, and to improvise on the spot.
I wasn't sure where to shoot since it was very cold, so this pretty much took away the "outdoors" element of the shoot. In the end, winging it worked and there was a nice church around the corner where we got most of our shots.
This picture is a favourite of hers from the photoshoot.
This one is much more dramatic, and definitely my favourite. Not a surprise, considering my background in cinematography and the use of blacks in the picture. And after the shoot it was off to Starbucks for some well-deserved hot coffee.
